SPACES TO PLAY
The right to play
Every child has a right to leisure, play, and participation in cultural and artistic activities
Article 31 of the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child
The numerous benefits of play:

Being physically active, including both gross and fine motor skills

Learning various social skills such as communication, negotiation, turn taking, rules/boundaries, co-operation

Having fun!
Play can happen in so many different places; on the playground, in nature, in the backyard, on the soccerfield, but it is important to create spaces where play can happen in safe, challenging and interactive ways.
